The man was injured in an incident on Athlunkard Street in Limerick city when he was allegedly attacked by a group of people.

THE MAN ATTACKED in Limerick city on St Patrick’s Day has died, gardaí have said. 

The man was injured in an incident on Athlunkard Street in Limerick city when he was allegedly attacked by a group of people.

Gardaí said that a post mortem examination will be carried out. 

“A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out at University Hospital Limerick today.

“Three men have been charged in relation to this investigation and have previously appeared before Court. Investigations are ongoing,” a garda spokesman said.
