National Lottery says winning €17m ticket sold at Lidl in Cavan

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw and the winner has yet to come forward.

THE NATIONAL LOTTERY has revealed Lidl in Creighan on the Athlone Road in Cavan as the location where a winning ticket for the EuroMillions draw was sold.

The ticket holder has won Friday night’s €17m jackpot.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw and the winner has yet to come forward.

Corporate Affairs Director at Lidl Ireland, Eimear O’Sullivan, said Lidl is “absolutely thrilled” to have sold the winning ticket.

“We’re urging any Lidl customers who shopped with us on Friday to be sure to check their tickets as they could be in store for a very Happy Christmas this year!” she said.

The win is the second Irish EuroMillions jackpot win of the year after the €250m jackpot win in June.

Another National Lottery player in Cavan became a millionaire after willing €1m in the Daily Million draw at the end of November.

National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr asked all EuroMillions players who may have purchased their tickets for the Friday 12 December draw at the Lidl to carefully check their tickets today.

“The winner should stay calm and sign the back of their ticket. They should make contact with our Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to visit Lottery Headquarters to collect their life-changing prize,” she said.
