WHAT’S THE STORY?
1. FORMER DUP LEADER and former First Minister of Ireland Ian Paisley has died. He was 88 years old.
2. OSCAR Pistorius has been found guilty of the culpable homicide of Reeva Steenkamp in South Africa. His sentencing will take place on 13 October but in the meantime he has been allowed out on bail.
3. WE’RE still waiting on a date but it’s looking more and more likely that Ireland will be allowed pay back some of its bailout loans early – meaning it can take advantage of the better-value funding currently available.
4. MEANWHILE, back home, Enda Kenny has tried to put an end to the ongoing war of word between himself and Leo Varadkar. Oh, and this also happened.
