2. ALSO in court today, businessman Anthony Lyons was sent back to prison for 18 months after the Criminal Court of Appeal ruled his initial sentence for sexual assault was unduly lenient.

3. IT’S been a bad morning for public sector workers who woke up to news that their salaries were not paid into their accounts because of a Bank of Ireland glitch.

4. WATER charge proposals from the regulator have been announced with the average cost for a household looking like it will be €278, higher than what the government had claimed.


5. THERE are fears that the death toll from today’s landslide in India could reach 150.
