GARDAÍ ARE QUESTIONING two men in connection with a raid this morning at a ‘Mace’ convenience story in Palmerstown, west Dublin.

It’s the latest in a string of robberies at the shop.

The two were intercepted by gardaí in an area of Ballyfermot, around an hour after the armed robbery took place.

They’re still being held for questioning this afternoon.

The Garda Press Office confirmed an attempted robbery took place at around 8.40am this morning, at a business on Manor Road in the suburb.

A man armed with a knife entered the shop and threatened staff – but escaped empty handed.

He was driven from the scene in a waiting car.
