Man charged with murder of 23-year-old Ellie Flanagan

Ellie Flanagan, 23, was found dead at an address in Enniskillen on Saturday.

A MAN HAS been charged with the murder of a young woman in Co Fermanagh.

23-year-old Ellie Flanagan was found dead at a house in the Corban Avenue area of Enniskillen on Saturday evening.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team confirmed this morning that a 45-year-old man has now been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon with intent.

He is due to appear before Strabane Magistrates’ Court today via video link.

Ms Flanagan’s body was discovered by police who had been carrying out enquiries in relation to a collision on the Carn Road near Tempo at around 9.15pm on Saturday.

Officers had received a report that a man had been involved in the crash but when they arrived at the scene they located the car with no driver present.

A 45-year-old man was later arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and related offences.

At the time, Detective Chief Inspector Gary Robinson said investigators were working “at pace” to establish the circumstances surrounding Ms Flanagan’s death.

Investigations are ongoing.
