Manslaughter probe launched after man dies days after suffering head injury outside bar in Lurgan

The man has been named as 51-year-old Robert Paczkowski.

A MAN WHO died from his injuries days after he was pushed over during an altercation outside a bar in Lurgan, Co Armagh has been named.

51-year-old Robert Paczkowski died in hospital from injuries understood to have been sustained in a fall during the incident on William Street, Lurgan in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police were called to the area shortly before 1am on Sunday following reports a man who had had been attempting to re-enter a bar.

Robert Paczkowski had been pushed back by door staff and had subsequently fallen, striking his head on the pavement.

The man received treatment from both staff and paramedics at the scene and was taken to hospital shortly after.

Police have since confirmed that Robert Paczkowski passed away this afternoon.

“Two men have been interviewed by police as part of what is now a manslaughter investigation,” a police spokesperson said.

They added that a file of evidence will be prepared for the Public Prosecution Service in due course.
