Man (30s) dies in collision in Longford and pedestrian injured in Letterkenny crash

The fatal crash happened shortly after midnight on Sunday 29 March in Ballymahon, while a female pedestrian was yesterday struck by a lorry in Letterkenny.

A MAN IN his 30s involved in a single-vehicle collision last week has died.

The crash happened shortly after midnight on Sunday 29 March on the R392 in Ballymahon in Co Longford.

He was the only occupant of the car. He was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore for treatment of his injuries. 

He died in hospital yesterday. No other injuries were reported.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Investigations into the collision are ongoing.

In Letterkenny in Co Donegal, a woman was yesterday injured after she was struck by a lorry at Station Roundabout on Port Road. Gardaí were alerted to the incident shortly after 3pm.

The pedestrian, aged in her 40s, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

A technical examination of the scene was carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for any information.
