Did you see the prisoners being transported Pat!?! Or the Garda members tasked with the job of transporting them!? Or the mode of transport being used!? Without knowing ANYTHING about the occurrence you reckon it’s down to the fact the Gardai must be buddy-buddy with a couple of car-thieves!!

Gardai do not transport people to and from prisons, that is the job of the prison service. You may want to check even the simple facts before making wild accusations

Was the case at Tralee Courthouse yesterday. A prison van passed me with some guy inside shouting/cursing and throwing his body off the walls of the van inside. Quite a noisy chap.

Pat, it may have escaped your notice but this country is in financial difficulty, people who are unable to pay fines/debts/child support are often lodged in the prison on the back of a penal warrant. It’s a sad day if those people, (many of whom are just after finding themselves in a spot of bother and see no way out) can’t be shown a bit of compassion by Gardaí.
Very typical of the “shur let’s blame it all on the Guards” brigade.

Gardai do transport prisoners also to court. You can’t miss the big white vans that look like prison vans with the small blacked out windows. Except they have “Gardai” on the front. Sorry for being an anorack

stun guns should keep the prisoners at bay or for a more humane way, chain their legs. if they are stupid enough to make a run for it then the furthest they will get is the ground.

You can’t get temporary release while on remand. So many comments so little knowledge.

The prisoner might be wishing he had been lodged in prison. A Kerryman wandering around a rough part of Limerick isn’t going to be too safe.
He might have got temporary release after a day or two had he been admitted to prison.
