Mayo player scoops first Lotto jackpot of the year with €11.1 million win

The winner has made contact with Lottery HQ, and their big prize will be collected soon.

A PLAYER IN Co Mayo has become the first jackpot winner of 2026 after scooping €11,101,286 in Wednesday night’s draw.

The National Lottery confirmed that the winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at Kelly’s Mace at the Circle K service station on the Mulranny Road in Newport.

The winner has since made contact with Lottery headquarters and arrangements are being made for the prize to be collected.

The winning numbers were 19, 20, 22, 25, 28, 43, with the bonus ball number of 1.

The latest success adds to a growing list of substantial wins in the county in recent years.

In 2022, Laura’s XL in Castlebar sold what remains the largest ever Lotto jackpot ticket in Ireland, worth more than €19 million.

Last August, an online player in Mayo won €17 million, one of the biggest prizes in the game’s history.

And in December 2024, Carey’s on Main Street in Belmullet, often described as one of the luckiest shops in the country, sold a €5.4 million jackpot ticket, having previously produced a €13.8 million winner in 2016.

Wednesday’s draw marked the culmination of a series of rollovers, pushing the jackpot above €11 million and making it the first top prize of the year.
