Two men charged in relation to hijacking of car in south Dublin

The men were arrested earlier this week.

TWO MEN ARRESTED in connection with the hijacking of a car in south Dublin earlier this week have been charged in relation to the alleged crime.

Officers arrested the men following the alleged hijacking of a vehicle in the south Dublin area which happened on the 15 June.

Gardaí said the men are accused of being involved in armed robberies which occurred earlier in the day at a service station in Palmerstown and a shop in Tallaght.

The vehicle believed to be involved these incidents, a silver hatchback, was discovered burnt out near the area of the hijacking which occurred in the Shankill area when a female driver was stopped by two men on Old Connaught Drive at around 4pm. She was uninjured in the incident.

Both men were remanded in custody to appear in court at a later date.
