IF I HAD the money I’d buy…
A car with an epic twin-turbo V8, understated good looks, incredible performance and a high-quality comfortable interior. I’d buy an Mercedes-AMG E63.
Why a Mercedes-AMG E63?
This car is one of the most powerful saloon cars you can buy. This four-door executive saloon is powered by a twin-turbo 5.5-litre V8 engine which produces 518hp.
It does the 100km dash in just 4.2 seconds and has a barnstorming (or Bahnstorming?) top speed limited electronically to 250km/h.
Being an AMG model you know that it has been built to the highest of standards. AMG follows the ‘One Man, One Engine’ philosophy, meaning a single technician assembles the complete engine. If you look at the engine of this car you will see the technician’s signature on the engine plate.
What’s special about this particular one?
This particular car has the excellent seven-speed dual-clutch paddle-shift gearbox with four modes of sportiness to choose from: Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Manual. It also has adaptive air suspension, Active Body Control, Electronic Stability Program, Sports Suspension and Traction Control System.
It is finished in a super cool Iridium silver metallic paint and sits on 19-inch AMG 10-spoke alloy wheels.
The gorgeous cabin is finished in full black Napa leather with black high-gloss ash wood trim and an AMG Performance steering wheel, also in black Napa leather. It has a sunroof, a Harman Kardon sound system, heated seats and sat-nav.
What does it look like in action?
Check out the interior of the E63 in this promo film and watch it drift around the track.
Who else drives one?
When not driving a tank Sylvester Stallone gets behind the wheel of his AMG E63. Renee Zellweger also owns one, as do plenty of other well-heeled folk.
It costs €67,950. What else could you get for the money?
For the same money, you could have this convertible Ford Mustang.
… or this Limited Edition Land Rover Defender 110 Adventure.
