MADELINE STUART HAS announced she will be taking part in New York Fashion Week.
The 19-year-old Australian model shared the news with her fans on social media.
In February, actress Jamie Brewer became the first model with Down syndrome to walk at New York Fashion Week (NYFW).
Stuart recently landed two big campaigns with athletic wear company Manifesta and eco handbag brand EverMaya.
The model will be hitting the catwalk for FTL Moda on 13 September.
In a post on its Facebook page the brand announced Stuart’s participation in the show with “the utmost joy and pride”, adding: “Beautiful Madeline will brighten up the runway.”
Stuart’s mother Rosanne recently told Cosmopolitan she wasn’t surprised when her daughter was approached about taking part in NYFW.
I don’t think anything really surprises me anymore. She’s been asked to do a lot of stuff and I was hoping to she’d get asked to do NYFW but I assumed it would happen. I hope that doesn’t sound too pretentious.
“It is very exciting and it’s going to take her from one level to the next. I know Jamie Brewer did it in February, but she is a movie star, she’s not a model. With Madeline this is her career, so I think it’s going to be a great platform for her.”
