Two raids and four arrests as gardaí investigate money laundering in Cork

The two men and two women are being questioned in different stations around the city.

TWO MEN AND two women have been arrested by gardaí investigating money laundering in Cork.

Members of the Cork Divisional Drug and Fraud units, with help from the Criminal Assets Bureau, carried out raids at two houses in the city and its suburbs this morning.

Two men, aged 19 and 29, and two women, aged 28 and 50, were detained and taken for questioning. They are being held at Gurranabraher, Mayfield and Bridewell garda stations.

The arrests follow on from four others made earlier this month, connected to the same probe. On 3 September, three women – aged 21, 33 and 50 – were questioned, along with one 33-year-old man.

The four were released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
