Pedestrian seriously injured after early morning collision on Navan backroad

Gardaí in Navan are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Co Meath.

A 33-YEAR-OLD male pedestrian was seriously injured early this morning when he was struck by a car on the Kentstown Road, Navan.

The incident occurred at 4.35am this morning and gardaí and Emergency Services were called to the scene.

The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda; his condition is understood to be serious.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

The scene of the collision is preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local traffic diversions are in place.
