Each week, we step inside a reader’s home, and indulge in some copycat behaviour, creating a shopping list inspired by their interior style.
This week, Rachel Tutty’s (@neutral_number_19) hotel-inspired guest bedroom was our inspiration.
“I love neutral tones and contemporary style,” says Rachel. “I wanted this guest room to have a ‘hotel’ feel to it so it could be a calm relaxing space for our family and friends to visit.”
I wanted it to feel like a home while still retaining elegance and contemporary style.
“I tried to keep the theme going throughout our home and stuck with the same style and colours.”
Grove Home in Tullamore, Co Offaly, Hudson Home and Neptune Home were Rachel’s main ports of call when decorating this room. Below are six high-street items that’ll help you get the look in your own home…
1. Marble and gold tray, €13.99, Cooking Life
Rachel’s decorative tray is perfect for displaying candles and flowers, or for serving breakfast.
2. Small ceramic vase, €12.99, H&M
Good things come in small vases (or packages).
3. Table lamp, €25, Ikea
The black details throughout Rachel’s room perfectly complement the neutral tones of the walls and bedding. Mimic this approach with a stand-out accessory like this table lamp.
4. White striped duvet cover, €25, Dunnes Stores
Luxury white sheets like these ones are a must in any hotel-inspired space.
5. Linen cushion cover, €15.99, Zara
Rachel opted for a homely yet stylish feel, using luxe fabrics to add texture. Do the same with these linen cushion covers, ideal for placing on top of the bed.
6. Reeds print, €9.95, Desenio
No modern bedroom is complete without some dramatic prints. Go for cool tones or neutrals for a contemporary feel.
