Better late than never... The fine, sunny weather is here for the week

And even into next weekend.

LOOKS LIKE THE summer is finally here.

After a fine, sunny weekend, the warm weather is set to stick around for the next few days.

Met Éireann says next weekend will be nice too – although the weather could break late next Sunday.

Here’s the forecast for today:

Pleasantly mild with highest temperatures 15 to 18 or 19 degrees Celsius, best values further west. Breezy at times though, with moderate to fresh southeast winds.

It could hit almost 20 degrees again tomorrow, apparently, and the outlook is for dry, bright, settled weather with “high pressure dominating”.

However midweek, it may feel a little cooler near east southeast coasts. Generally mild by day, but cool by night, with some mist and fog.

Here’s the detailed forecast for next weekend:

Current indications suggests much of next weekend will hold dry as the blocking high keeps weather fronts at bay. Temperatures will fall back though and there it the risk that the weather will break down later in the weekend.

Sure, a high pressure would have been nice back in, say, June. But we’ll take it.
