Gardaí investigating Phoenix Park murder release teenage girl

Three people have been questioned, and one man charged, in connection with the killing of 36-year-old Gerard Donnelly.

A 17-YEAR OLD girl who was being questioned in connection with the murder of Gerard Donnelly in the Phoenix Park last week has been released from custody.

She was detained late on Monday night night and questioned at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

27-year-old Ciarán Moran was charged at Dublin District Court yesterday with the murder of the 36-year-old, and remanded in custody to appear again next week at Clover Hill District Court.

Gerard Donnelly, believed to be from Tallaght, was found burned to death in a sleeping bag early hours of Friday morning.

Another man, aged in his 20s, was also questioned in connection with the case. He was released without charge yesterday, with a file to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
