GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING THE killing of Polish national Patryk Krupa, whose body was found in the River Shannon near Athlone last month, have issued a fresh appeal for information.

In particular, they’re looking for information on a vehicle connected to the victim, and they’re making a specific appeal for members of the Polish community to come forward.

One man has already appeared before the courts charged with assault and false imprisonment in connection with the case, while several others have been questioned by gardaí.

The car

According to gardaí, it’s believed the victim left Athlone Town in a black BMW 3 Series, with a ’06 D’ reg plate at around 6.30pm on the evening of 20 June.

There were four other people in the car — of whom, gardaí have interviewed three; they’re appealing for the final person to come forward.

According to a Garda statement:

It is also believed that the car was driven from Athlone Town to an area known as the ‘Number 1’,   which is at Boggafin, Athlone, Co Roscommon.  This is an area located underneath the Athlone by-pass where it crosses the River Shannon.

The car was later recovered at Cornamaddy, to the north-east of Athlone, in the early hours of the following morning.

Detectives investigating the case say they want to hear from “anyone who may have observed this car in, or close to the areas mentioned between the 20th June and the early hours of the 21st June”.

Garda w Athlone zwraca się z prośbą o pomoc odnośnie zabójstwa Patryka Krupy, które miało miejsce w Athlone w piątek 20 czerwca 2014 i jednocześnie pragnie wyrazić wdzięczność względem społeczności za dotychczasową pomoc okazaną w związku z dochodzeniem.W wyniku dochodzenia aresztowano kilka osób. Jedna z nich obecnie odpowiada przed sądem w związku z tym przestępstwemW chwili obecnej dochodzenie ustaliło, że tragicznie zmarły Patryk Krupa został wywieziony z Athlone czarnym BMW 3 Series, częściowa rejestracja ‘06D’ wieczorem w piątek 20 czerwca 2014 około godziny 18:30. Ustalono, że w aucie przebywały wówczas cztery osoby. Garda przesłuchała trzy z nich i obecnie zwraca się z apelem do czwartej osoby o skontaktowanie się z posterunkiem Gardy w Athlone.

Ustalono również, że powyższy samochód przejechał trasę z Athlone do obszaru znanego jako ‘Number 1’, czyli Boggafin, Athlone, Co. Roscommon. Jest to miejsce położone poniżej obwodnicy Athlone, tam gdzie przecina ona rzekę Shannon.

Samochód ten został później odnaleziony w pobliżu osiedla domków niedaleko Cornamaddy, Athlone we wczesnych godzinach rannych w sobotę 21 czerwca 2014.

Prowadzący śledztwo funkcjonariusze Gardy zwracają się z apelem do kogokolwiek kto mógł zaobserwować ten samochód w wyżej wymienionych miejscach lub ich pobliżu pomiędzy 20 czerwca a wczesnymi godzinami rannymi 21 czerwca 2014. Zwracają się przede wszystkim do społeczności polskiej i kogokolwiek kto posiadałby jakiekolwiek informacje w związku z tym przestępstwem o kontakt z posterunkiem Gardy w Athlone pod numerem 0906 498550 lub z jakimkolwiek innym posterunkiem Gardy.
