The Daily PollFOR MONTHS NOW, there has been speculation over who will be running in the presidential race. Now, there’s a fight for a spot on the ballot.
There are three confirmed candidates: Independent Catherine Connolly, newly backed by Sinn Féin; Jim Gavin representing Fianna Fáil; and Heather Humphreys of Fine Gael.
Maria Steen and Gareth Sheridan are among other Independents seeking to make it onto the ballot.
But before these names, there were others who raised their hand for the job. We have a flavour of them here – if any of these people ended up as presidential candidates, who would you have voted for?
