Did you get your first choice applying to college?

TD Paul Murphy called for an overhaul of the Leaving Certificate’s points system.

PEOPLE BEFORE PROFIT TD Paul Murphy is calling for a major overhaul of the current Leaving Cert exam, proposing to “get rid of the points race”.

As well as short term measures, in the longer-term, Murphy proposed students should be able to get places based on matriculation requirements – such as achieving certain grades in subjects directly required for their degree – rather than points.

He argued that this would give students better access to their desired degrees, as well as reducing “unfairness”.

So today we’re asking you: Did you get your first choice applying to college?
