Poll: Jim, Catherine or Heather? Who would you vote for?

If this presidential contest only has three candidates to choose from, who would you opt for?

THE PRESIDENTIAL CONTEST is, so far, a three-horse race.

Jim Gavin won Fianna Fáil’s secret ballot of the parliamentary party yesterday, beating out MEP Billy Kelleher. Gavin received 41 votes to Kelleher’s 29.

Fine Gael’s Heather Humphreys and Independent TD Catherine Connolly are the only other candidates in in the official running. Sinn Féin is yet to clarify whether it will field a candidate.

Councils are hearing pitches from other Independent candidates now, but the route to get on the ticket is narrow.

So, as it stands, if there are only three candidates in the race, who would you vote for?

Poll Results:

Catherine Connolly (6136)
Heather Humphreys (6040)
None of the above (4660)
Jim Gavin (3775)
