KEEPING UP WITH an ever-changing property market can be difficult, but we’re here to make things easier.
Every week, we handpick a number of homes within a similar budget, and usually in a similar area, to give you an idea of what the property landscape looks like right now.
This week, we’re looking at properties around Co Sligo with an asking price of €450,000 and under – including a semi-d in Strandhill and a detached home near Sligo town.
This 200 m² five-bed nestled in the countryside, along the coast road, is just minutes from Sligo town. Sitting on a south-facing site that’s almost an acre in size, it opens to an entrance hall and a sitting room with double doors to a sun room. This space then leads to a patio outdoors. The ground floor includes a versatile kitchen with free-standing units, a pantry, three bedrooms, and a large bathroom.
Two more double bedrooms that both have walk-in wardrobes sit upstairs. And while the master bedroom has an en suite, there’s another bathroom on this floor. The garden around the house includes a sunny private patio and a gravel path that leads to a stone building that’s ideal to BBQ and dine in.
This three-bed sits in the centre of popular Strandhill village offering an instant sense of community and lots to do, from socialising and shopping to hiking and surfing.
12 Waverley Court is 113 sq m in size and comprises an open plan sitting, kitchen and dining room on the ground floor along with a toilet. Upstairs are three nicely-sized bedrooms that all share a bathroom. The back garden faces southeast and has a decking area for entertaining in the sunshine.
Saint Teresa’s is a bungalow that’s full of character located on Mail Coach Road, just a short walk from Sligo town. Inside is a light-filled entrance hall leading to the cosy living room that has a large bay window and an open fireplace. To the back of this three-bed is the fully fitted kitchen that leads to the dining area. A newly fitted utility room and three bedrooms that share the newly refurbished bathroom complete this ground floor.
The gardens around the house are laid in lawn and plants creating the perfect place for kids to play and for families to entertain in. The new owners will no doubt appreciate the off-street parking, too.
No 15 The Drive is a roomy four-bed in great nick thanks to a recent modernisation. The open plan layout of the social spaces ensures the rooms are bright and airy and this is only enhanced by the French doors that lead to the back garden. Three double bedrooms and a single room, along with a family bathroom, sit upstairs. The master bedroom has a south-west facing window, floor-to-ceiling wardrobes and an en suite bathroom.
The house, while minutes from Sligo town, also benefits from views of the ocean, Knocknarea and Benbulben as well as one of the best beaches in Ireland for surfing.
