Pro-Choice

Pictures: Crowds take to the streets for pro-choice march

The march, organised by the Abortion Rights Campaign, was held to call for free and safe legal abortion for women in Ireland — coinciding with a global ‘day of action’.

OVER A THOUSAND pro-choice campaigners took to the streets of Dublin today to call for a liberalisation of the country’s abortion laws.

Members of the Abortion Rights Campaign (ARC), Catholics for Choice and numerous other groups marched from the Garden of Remembrance to Merrion Square.

An estimated 1,200 people took part. Crowds began gathering at the Garden of Remembrance at around 1.30pm, and the event finished up at around 4.15pm.

It was organised as part of the “Global Day of Action for access to free and safe legal abortion”.
