IF YOU FIND yourself fantasising about a quiet life in the countryside, where the majority of your day is spent outside tending to the garden, then this home in Co Wicklow might pique your interest.

Located in the townland of Ballinanty, this large four bed stands on over 18 acres. It also includes a registered commercial space that dates to 1982, providing a business opportunity as well as a home.

With an overall floor area of 255 m², there’s space inside as well as out, too.

The house itself is a delightful mix of old and new with upgrade dotted throughout – the outdoor lights have been replace in recent months and there is a Rayburn in the kitchen which was added just a few years ago, for example.

From the bright hallway with its marble floor, you venture to the charming sitting room. It’s filled with light due to the bay window and has an open fireplace. Double doors from here lead to the dining room and kitchen.

The kitchen has a floor laid in terracotta tiles, and the units are solid oak with quartz worktops.

A utility room off the space provides even more storage in similar oak units to create cohesion between the spaces.

Each of the five bedrooms are on the ground floor and they’re all well-sized. The floors differ throughout and include carpet, tiles, wood and even marmoleum.

The largest bedroom has Canadian Oak flooring, built in wardrobes and its own bathroom. The other bedrooms share the family bathroom.

There is also a light-filled sunroom that steps out into the garden. Another conservatory to the back of the home steps out to another patio area.

In terms of safety, the land has two entrances, and each has electric gates. There is also a CCTV set up along with an alarm system.

The land surrounding the house is home to boarded walkways, various ponds, water features, a poly tunnel and even a cherry tree walk. There is also a separate holding of agricultural land with its own access and includes a three bay shed with one section sectioned off with three stables.

The house is on an elevated site so views of the countryside are a given. Yet, the village of Rathdrum is a handy 6km away, where everything is needed for everyday family life.  The next owner will have Wicklow county at its disposal, and if they’re a gardener, then there’s no better place.

The price of Ballinanty, Rathdrum, Co Wicklow is available on application and it is on sale through O’Neill & Flanagan.
