Dublin rents have fallen for the first time in three years

The Residential Tenancies Board has found that the cost of renting a house in Dublin has dropped by 0.6% with the average rent at €973 per month, although apartment rents have increased by 1.6%.

Dragon’s Den business man selling his Aran Island home to aid homeless charities

Barry O’Sullivan, a member of the Dragon’s Den, is to sell a home on the Aran Islands and will donate the proceeds to Focus Ireland and COPE Galway. This will help with the deposits for at least 15 homes for homeless families.

  • Zanzibar Hotel on Dublin’s Ormond Quay is expected to sell for twice the asking price of €5 million according to an article in the Irish Independent. The property has full planning permission for the development of an 89-bedroom hotel.
  • Sherry Fitzgerald’s chief economist has predicted that low housing stock will accelerate price inflation according to an article in the Irish Times.
