Here's the average price of a home in Blackrock in 2017

THE AVERAGE ASKING price of a property in Blackrock is edging closer to €600,000, according to the latest figures.

Analysis by Daft.ie of all homes for sale in the area in the third quarter of 2017 puts the average list price at €581,810.

This puts the area firmly in the top tier of Dublin neighbourhoods for price: it ranks 14th out of 117 markets across Dublin city and county.

Blackrock is just marginally more expensive than its near neighbour Booterstown, where the average price is around €565,000. However it remains significantly cheaper than areas to the south.

The average price in Foxrock is now more than €810,000, with Mount Merrion close behind at around €790,000.

Across the capital overall, the average price of a property is just over €394,000.

Prices in Blackrock still have some way to go before reaching their Celtic Tiger peak – they hit over €800,000 in 2006. They were at their lowest level in the second quarter of 2012, when the average was roughly €364,000.
