Gardaí arrest man in connection with murder after Halloween bonfire

Robert Ellis was killed on 1 November.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man in connection with a murder in Dublin last month.

Robert Ellis was killed on 1 November after being chased to a house in Liscarne Gardens in Neilstown, Dublin 22.

It’s believed he was stabbed a number of times, and fatally wounded. He had been attending a bonfire at St Mark’s estate before he was chased and killed.

This morning gardaí arrested a man in his 20s.

He is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Lucan Garda Station.

Gardaí at Ronanstown are appealing for anyone who was in the general area of St Mark’s, Neilstown Road or Liscarne Gardens between 1am and 3.30am on the morning of 1 November to contact them.

Robert Ellis survived a gun attack last year. He had a number of criminal convictions.
