Rolf Harris to be released from prison tomorrow

Harris denies four counts of indecent assault against three teenage girls between 1971 and 1983.

AUSTRALIAN ENTERTAINER ROLF Harris is to be released from a British prison tomorrow, a London court has been told.

The 87-year-old former television star has been appearing via videolink during his trial on charges of indecent assault, which opened on Monday.

The jury has previously been told that Harris has already been convicted and sentenced in 2014 for other offences.

Judge Deborah Taylor said Harris would be released from prison tomorrow.

“He will no longer be appearing in the court via videolink and he will be attending what remains of his trial in person next week,” Taylor said.

Harris is accused of four counts of indecent assault against three teenage girls between 1971 and 1983. He denies the charges.

The trial is due to last three weeks.

A household name for decades in Britain and his native Australia, Harris is an artist and television presenter who also topped the music charts in both countries.
