Ryan Tubridy has another new radio gig - here’s where you’ll hear him next

The broadcaster will host a new Sunday afternoon show on Times Radio.

RYAN TUBRIDY HAS secured another hosting position, as he is set to join the weekend line-up on Times Radio.

The former RTÉ broadcaster will present a new Sunday afternoon programme as part of a wider schedule shake-up at the UK digital radio station.

Tubridy will take over the 1pm to 4pm slot on Sundays, with Times Radio describing the show as a mix of news, politics, books and culture, alongside interviews with high-profile guests.

Tubridy, who has previously hosted radio shows across Ireland and the UK, said he “couldn’t be happier” to be joining the station.

“We’ll have an eclectic mix of news and reviews,” Tubridy said.

“From politics to popular culture, we’ll tell you what you need to know. I can’t wait to get started.”

The new programme will give Tubridy a more news-led role, with Times Radio noting his interest in UK and US politics and his experience across radio, television and print.

Tim Levell, programme director at Times Radio, described Tubridy as “one of the country’s finest and most-established broadcasters.”

“UK listeners will now get to hear his gift for engaging, intelligent conversation as well as his more newsy, political style every Sunday afternoon,” Levell said.

Launched in June 2020, Times Radio is a digital news station owned by News UK (part of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp), designed to bring the journalism from The Times and The Sunday Times newspapers to a radio format.

Tubridy’s first show on Times Radio will air on Sunday 22 March.

The move follows Tubridy’s decision late last year to step away from his weekday mid-morning slot on Virgin Radio UK, where he spent two years on air.

He has since announced a number of new projects, including a standalone YouTube series, The Late Show, which will also be broadcast on Times Radio.

Tubridy is also hosting a “new and improved” and a refreshed weekend radio show across the Onic network in Ireland (which includes Dublin’s Q102, Cork’s 96FM, Limerick’s Live 95 and LMFM).

This is alongside his podcast The Bookshelf.
