Sawn-off shotgun and ammunition found stashed in Offaly graveyard

An examination of the scene is ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.

GARDAÍ HAVE RECOVERED a firearm and ammunition during a search operation in Co. Offaly earlier today.

The sawn-off shotgun and the quantity of ammunition were found during the search of a graveyard.

The searches were carried out by gardaí from Tullamore investigating criminal activity in the area.

An examination of the scene is ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.
