Young woman arrested after man is stabbed in the back

Police in Coleraine have made an appeal for witnesses.

POLICE IN COLERAINE have arrested a 26-year-old woman after a stabbing incident in the early hours of this morning.

A 42-year-old man was assaulted close in the Strand Road area of the city at about five minutes after midnight.

He received stab wounds to his back and body. He was taken to hospital and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The woman is currently helping police with their inquiries.
