IN WHAT WAS perhaps the quickest turnaround for a story we’ve ever posted, Dublin Port Tunnel has now re-opened after a brief, bird-based emergency.
It was closed for several minutes earlier after a swan wandered into the south bore (some neck, etc).
We promised an update on the story so here it is… The swan has now left, and the tunnel is open again.
And yes, before anyone says anything… It has been a quiet half-hour in the newsroom so far this morning.
We will, of course, be monitoring the swan all day to make sure it doesn’t cause any more trouble.
While we’re here – apparently, the M50 is moving well in both directions.
