1. #HACKING: The personal details of over 300 subscribers to horse trade magazine The Irish Field were posted online on Saturday. The Data Protection Commissioner and gardai are investigating how the phone numbers, home addresses, emails and other details of citizens were hacked and publicly exposed.

2. #REPUBLICANISM: Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams has offered that he – or any member of his party – will act as mediator to dissident republicans, “to talk to them and listen to them”.

3. #IVORY COAST: Laurent Gbagbo, disputed president of the Ivory Coast, has been arrested according to reports coming from the violence-stricken country. The arrest by troops loyal to president-in-waiting Alassane Outtara has come after the UN and France fired rockets on his residence.

4. #JAPAN: A 6.6-magnitude earthquake has hit Japan, with its focus 50 miles from the Fukushima nuclear power plant. The new quake, which saw staff temporarily evacuated from the plant, came as the country commemorated the one-month anniversary of the March 11 quake and tsunami.

5. #AIR TRAVEL: A website that assists airline passengers in claiming refunds of taxes and charges for their cancelled flight bookings says it is confident it can overcome a legal challenge from Ryanair. The airline says the claims of AirTaxRefund.com – which says Irish airlines retain hundreds of millions in unreturned taxes each year – are incorrect and is seeking a “declaratory order” from Dublin Circuit Court to dispute the claim.
