TESC007: Supermarket giant gets ready for Skyfall release

The temporary rebranding exercise is to celebrate the release of what is expected to be the biggest home movie release of all time.

TESCO UK SHOPPERS will do a double take today when they catch a glimpse of the double 00 amended signage outside some of its Extra stores.

The temporary rebranding exercise is to celebrate the release of the latest James Bond film Skyfall, which is set to be the biggest home movie release of all time and is already the UK’s highest grossing film of all time at cinemas.

Tesco have said the release has led to huge pre-orders on their website.

This is the first time that supermarket giant has ever altered the name on its storefront and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment Managing Director, Robert Price, said the two brands together really “stand-out”:

The iconic Tesc007 fascia brings together two of the country’s most recognisable logos and we’re excited to see the reaction from shoppers today.

The 007 sign will feature at Tesco Extra stores in Wembley, Cheshunt, Sandhurst, Hull and Pitsea in the UK.

Skyfall, which was released in the 50th anniversary year for Bond movies, has so far made a record £102 million at UK box offices. Other films in the UK top five are Avatar – £93 million; Titanic – £80 million; Toy Story 3 – £73 million; and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 – £73 million.
