THREE MEN HAVE been rescued after their fishing boat sank off the west Cork coast.
The men were aboard a 40ft fishing vessel when they got into difficulties off Glandore, Co Cork at around half past two this afternoon.
After a Mayday emergency call the Coast Guard helicopter was scrambled from Shannon, as well as the Baltimore lifeboat crew. However, the three were rescued by another fishing boat which also responded to the call, reaching the scene at 2.50pm.
The men were brought on board and returned to shore at Union Hall, near Glandore. They are all reported to be safe and well, and none required hospital treatment.
It is not known what caused the boat to get into difficulties.
