One for fans of tense thrillers, this is about a prison transport officer called Amber Todd who is tasked with escorting contract killer Tibor Stone to testify against his former employers. When their transport convoy is attacked, Amber handcuffs herself to Tibor to prevent his escape. They go on the run together, desperate to reach court alive.

Masters: Keepers of Tradition

This new RTÉ series introduces us to people keeping ancient and traditional crafts alive. It’s inspired by the iconic series Hands, which first aired on RTÉ in the late 70’s. In episode one we meet stone carver Julia Gebel, who arrived in Ireland from Germany to work on the restoration of Cormac’s Chapel at the Rock of Cashel and decided to stay here.

In this documentary we meet forensic pathologist, Caroline Muirhead, who met a man on a Tinder date and ended up facing some horrifying facts about his past. The pair had a whirlwind romance and got engaged, but it turned out her fiancé was hiding something horrific. When he finally confided in her about a brutal killing, Caroline had to decide what to do next.

If you missed this much talked-about film when it hit the cinema, now’s your chance to see director Ari Aster’s latest film. It’s set during the pandemic in May 2020, focusing on a standoff between a small-town sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix) and mayor (Pedro Pascal) in Eddington, New Mexico.

Man on Fire

This new high-octane thriller is based on AJ Quinnell’s book series, about the character John Creasy. Creasy was a skilled Special Forces Mercenary but is now plagued with intense PTSD. He tries to find redemption in order to cleanse himself of his demons – but soon finds himself fighting harder than ever on the streets of Rio de Janeiro as he tries to keep a teenage girl safe.
