Man (50s) in serious condition after collision in Tralee

The injured man was cycling on the R551 at Caherslee in Tralee, Co Kerry.

A MAN IN his 50s is in serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car in the early hours of this morning.

The injured man was cycling on the R551 at Caherslee in Tralee, Co Kerry. Gardaí were alerted to the collision shortly after 1:30am.

The cyclist was brought to University Hospital Kerry for treatment.

No other injuries were reported and the road is currently closed for technical examination, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses or people with footage of the scene to come forward as they continue to investigate the incident.
