Two arrested over Co Clare shooting

Two men aged in their 20s have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Bunratty, Co Clare, in the early hours of this morning.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Bunratty, Co Clare, in the early hours of this morning.

A man aged in his early 20s is in a critical condition in hospital in Limerick following the attack.

The victim was approached  by two men in a hotel car park shortly before 4am on Sunday and shot “a number of times”, before the attackers escaped in a black-coloured car.

A firearm was later recovered near to the scene by investigating gardaí.

Two males, both in their 20s, were arrested in connection with the incident today in Cork city, and are currently being detained at Mayfield and Gurranabraher Garda Stations under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.
