Two arrested over Omagh murder

Monaghan student Jason McGovern, 19, died from head injuries after being assaulted in two separate occasions while on a night out in Omagh.

DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING THE murder of 19-year-old Monaghan student Jason McGovern have arrested two men.

McGovern was found dead at a house in Emyvale on the morning of 31 December. He had been assaulted on two separate occasions earlier while on a night out in Omagh.

A post mortem exam showed that he died from head injuries.

The PSNI say the men, aged 18 and 21, were arrested in the Omagh area yesterday and are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
