THE METROPOLITAN POLICE have appealed for men who were sexually abused as children to come forward, as part of their investigation into the murders of three boys during the 1970s.
Detective Superintendent Kenny McDonald told a press conference in London today that he believes the allegations of a witness named only as Nick, who claims he saw a then sitting Conservative MP strangle a young boy during a sex abuse “party.”
“[Other detectives] and I believe what Nick is saying to be credible and true, hence why we are investigating the allegations he has made to us,” The Independent reports McDonald as saying.
In a statement, the detective said:
Today I want to appeal directly to those other young boys, now men, who were also subject to abuse at the hands of these men.
I believe that there were other boys who were abused, or who were present whilst the abuse took place.
I would ask you to trust me. I will support you, and do everything in my power to find those responsible and bring them to justice. I need your accounts to help me do that.
The investigation – known as Operation Midland – is centred on a flat at Dolphin Square, a block of exclusive apartments in the Pimlico neighbourhood of London.
It was launched last month, after Nick came forward to say he had been raped and abused from age seven to 16 at the apartment by a “VIP” paedophile ring including prominent politicians, judges and senior police officers.
He also told investigative news website Exaro that:
In his statement today, McDonald said that his team’s investigation of the three murders involved examining missing persons reports from that time, but that no bodies had been recovered yet.
Operation Midland is investigating whether the disappearance of 15-year-old Martin Allen in 1979 is connected with the Dolphin Square paedophile ring.
Similarly, detectives are in contact with the family of Vishal Mehrotra, an eight-year-old boy who disappeared and was later found dead in 1981.
Vishal’s father Vishambar Mehrotra last month told the Daily Telegraph he believes his son was abducted and murdered by members of the Westminster paedophile ring.
Abuse associated with the network is also thought to have taken place at several locations throughout London and surrounding counties, including at military premises.
