White van-driving kidnappers threatened victim with a crossbow

A 36-year-old man is recovering after being attacked and forced into the vehicle in Coalisland last evening.

A 36-YEAR-OLD MAN was forced into a white van before being assaulted, robbed and threatened with a crossbow in Co Tyrone last night.

The victim’s ordeal began at around 6.30pm, according to the PSNI.

The man was forced into the vehicle in Coalisland by two men, and driven for around 20 minutes “during which time he was assaulted and threatened with a crossbow”.

The victim’s phone was taken by the assailants, who also demanded money.

Eventually, the man managed to make his escape — leaving the van in the area of the Derrytresk Road.
