Simon performed an emotional tribute at Ground Zero in New York today.

AT AN EMOTIONAL memorial ceremony at Ground Zero in New York today, singer Paul Simon performed The Sound of Silence.

As crowds gathered to remember the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre, it was for many a highly emotional and tearful moment.

    You would have to have a heart of stone not to be moved for all the victims of 9/11 , the victims on the day and the many thousands after . Very poignant song .

    A fitting rendition for such a day. I also think of John Lennon’s “Imagine” when I think of 9/11.

    Beautifully befitting , poignant and reminder of the Innocents sacrificed in a World of ‘tit for tat’ violence and oftentimes chronic hatred.

    Paul Simon and his fabulous "The Sound of Silence" was just the perfect message to us that we must at all times, listen, love, respect and heed one another’s opinions, then to reign terror on one another, in the future!

    A suitable antidote to further revenge I hope ?
