SPREAD OVER 190 M², Leo House is as interesting in the inside as it looks on the outside. Designed by the architect Gareth Maguire, it’s clear from the get-go that this house near the Wicklow village of Greystones has creative flair in spades.

The garden, which is partly laid in gravel, is home to an abundance of plants, trees and shrubs including roses and olive trees. A granite wall encloses the space that also includes steps that lead to a rose garden home to a fountain and seating area. The patio gets most of the sunshine in the evening seeing as the garden faces west.

A recent renovation makes sure that this house is filled with natural light – this is largely due to the picture windows on each floor. As for finished, the upstairs is laid in gorgeous solid wood parquet flooring while the ground floor is elegantly finished in polished concrete .

From the dark blue walls to the rich wooden door frames and use of glass, Leo House has great flow from one room to the next. The hallway with its double height window overlooks the pretty garden. The hall links to the open plan kitchen that incorporates a living room and dining area. There’s also a big pantry and a handy utility room just off the kitchen. To add even more luxury, there’s a feature glass panelled wine cellar that picks up the natural light from the picture windows.

Every bedroom in this home has an en suite bathroom and each bedroom is a double. Bright and spacious two look over the back garden while the third and smallest looks over the front. These bedrooms benefit from double height vaulted ceilings.
