IT’S (ALMOST) THE most wonderful time of the year, which means presents, mince pies, time with family and friends, Christmas trees and, of course, Santa.

How to win

Here’s what you have to do. Email competitions@thejournal.ie by 11.59pm on Sunday night (30 October) with your best story about meeting Santa. It could have been when you were a kid, or it could be something that happened with your own kids – either is fine.

Keep it to a few sentences (250 words max). Include your name and contact number so we can give you a call if you win.

The winner of the best story will be chosen from all the entries and will be notified either by email or by phone.

This is a big prize, so make sure to read the terms and conditions: 

• The trip is for 2 adults and 2 children to Lapland for 1 night. Prize winners must be available to travel on 17 Dec for 1 night staying in the 3* Rantasipi Pohjanhovi. Winners must be available to travel on the dates specified.
• Travel dates and holiday is non transferable. If the prize winners are unavailable to travel the holiday must be forfeited.
• Holiday winners must have their own travel insurance. Holiday must be booked direct with Sunway Holidays, Marina House, Clarence Street, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.
• Holiday includes flights, transfers and accommodation for 1 night.
