Zendesk security breach affects Twitter, Tumblr & Pinterest users

Some contact information for users was compromised when hackers attacked the customer support service, Zendesk.

USER DATA AT Twitter, along with a number of other companies such as Tumblr and Pinterest, have been compromised recently when a customer portal they use called Zendesk was hacked.

Twitter sent a notification email to its affected customers to warn them of the breach and to let customers know that they could have been compromised..

The Twitter email said that Zendesk’s breach did not result in the exposure of information such as Twitter account passwords but it could have included contact information such as an email, phone number, or Twitter username.

More information about the breach can be found in their blog post.

“We do not believe you need to take any action at this time but wanted to ensure that you were notified of this incident,” the Twitter statement read.
