That poor child, hope he’s ok.. How was he on the tracks?

Beaumont hospital do actually have a paediatric ward. If the injuries are severe enough the child will be brought to the nearest acute hospital services. Poor child, hope he recovers well. His poor parents must be distraught.

Is there any further update on the boy? I was there for the immediate aftermath and thought it was a young girl. The gap between the platform and the train at that point is very wide and noticed it myself as i was pushing a buggy. His sister was also there and saw the whole terrible accident. God love the poor child. Would like to hear of his progress.

Hope this child is ok. I’m surprised there’s not a lot more accidents in dart stations, there’s a lot of messing that goes on amongst school kids while waiting. Not saying that’s what happened in this case. Speedy recovery.

The headline is wrong. It happened at Howth Junction, which is not Howth.

I heard the child was running alongside the train as it arrived at the platform and slipped.
But I often see children crossing the tracks at that station instead of using the footbridge.

i was on the train as it happened, he was running alongside and slipped and fell down the gap, it was at 25 to 5 not 10 to. I saw the boy, his legs were totally mangled but he had no other injury so id imagine he’ll live.He was’nt on the tracks,his sister was there yeah, and was taken to beaumount, but i think has been moved since then to a different hosptial.

I very much doubt a 10 year old was taken to Beaumont Hospital, as they’ve no paediatric A&E, and will only accept admissions from 16 years and up.

More than likely it was Temple St Hospital he was taken to.

Howth junction station has two sets of double tracks with a pedestrian bridge that takes ages to cross, I have often seen kids crossing the tracks rather than cross the bridge at that station. Hope this isn’t what happened here. Poor kid. Hope he is ok.

Was in London-Monday, and heard over the intercom that someone had been killed on the tracks. This was the 2nd fatality in a week.. No-one seemed to care or be bothered about it.. Life goes on, so it seems.
