5. #SPLISH SPLASH: Local authorities have given €424 million to Irish Water to date, new figures reveal. This is water-related expenditure they were previously budgeted for.

6. #CRISIS: A survey by the Irish Examiner has revealed a 500% increase in the number of people sleeping rough in Cork since 2011, from 38 to 230. A vigil was held outside Leinster House last night following the death of Jonathan Corrie.

7. #ANGER: Phil Hogan has been called on by Irish farmers to intervene following a report that predicts a fall in dairy farmers’ profit margin by roughly two cents per litre, RTÉ News reports, potentially plunging rural Ireland into ‘crisis’.

8. EMERGENCY: The HSE may have to introduce longer response times for ambulances in rural areas due to a lack of resources, The Irish Times reports. It follows a damning report on the service yesterday.

9. #SHEARS AT DAWN: Neighbours in Wicklow have taken a dispute about a hedge to the High Court, according to reports today, after one allegedly lost 20 square meters of land after a lane was widened.
