Woman in critical condition after car collides with parked truck

The accident happened at about 6am this morning.

A WOMAN AND a man have been removed to hospital following an early-morning collision between a car and a parked truck.

The incident happened at about 6am on the R148 between Enfield and Kilcock in Co Kildare.

The woman, who was the passenger in the car, has been removed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown. Her condition is understood to be serious.

The male driver of the car has also been taken to Connolly Hospital, although his injuries are not understood to be life-threatening.

The road remains closed at present.
