WE’VE ALL BEEN there: sending a tweet with a typo in it.
Totally mortified, you fervently click the delete button, hoping nobody has spotted your error.
But when you’re a media giant like the Boston Globe, with 392,000 followers on Twitter, your mistake will most certainly get noticed.
So spare a thought for the person who tweeted this today:
The Boston Globe / TwitterEd Reinhold, FBI, says FBI has investifarted about 70 leads already. Live Video: http://t.co/nXuiv3rwFm
— The Boston Globe (@BostonGlobe) July 17, 2015
After countless tweets mocking the unfortunate mishap, the paper tweeted this:
The Boston Globe / TwitterAs policy we does not delete typographical errors on Twitter, but do correct #investifarted https://t.co/lT5Bz7WP6f https://t.co/x4UGGA3RSE

Well played, Boston Globe.
That didn’t stop the internet from responding to ‘investifarted’ as only Twitter can:

Izzy Galvez / TwitterThe FBI is off to a good fart, but sulfur they haven't found any connections. Time to stop methane around and step on the gas! @BostonGlobe
